In January 2009, in the peaceful community of Avon Lake, Ohio, that promise became the foundation of White Orchid Adult Care. Founded by Carmen and Daniel Ivan, White Orchid was born from a simple yet powerful belief: senior care should feel like home, not like an institution. After years of working closely with elderly residents in traditional care settings, they envisioned something different — a place where every resident would be known by name, understood as an individual, and treated like family.
The name White Orchid was chosen with purpose. Like the delicate white orchid flower, every senior entrusted to our care possesses a unique story, a lifetime of memories, and a beauty that deserves to be cherished. The mission was never simply to provide assistance; it was to honor lives well lived and create an environment where residents could continue to thrive with joy, companionship, and respect.
As families walked through our doors, they discovered something unexpected. They did not find long hallways and impersonal routines. Instead, they found sunlight streaming through welcoming rooms, home-cooked meals shared around a table, peaceful gardens, caring smiles, and a team that genuinely listened. They found a home.
Over the years, countless families have entrusted White Orchid with the care of those most precious to them.
